Down the Shore

The shore was really nice. It was overcast in the morning, so I think that kept alot of the daytrippers away. But then the sun came out and it turned out to be a great day. I got some sun (I actually burned a bit in some areas) and Princess loved the ocean and the sand. Unfortunately, the ocean was pretty rough so I couldn't take her all the way in, but she loved getting her feet wet and repeatedly tried to run right into the waves. She's a kid after my own heart.

I spent way too much on some sand toys for her (that I probably could have gotten at the dollar store, but didn't think about it). They kept her pretty much entertained so that my friend and I could lounge in the sun and talk. You can see from the pic how amazed she was by all of this:

We went to Pt. Pleasant Beach, which is where I spent my summers as a kid. I am hoping to do the same with Princess because those are some of my best memories, although it has gotten SO expensive to rent for a few weeks. I am trying to convince Hub that perhaps we need to buy a house, a little bungalow, down there. Maybe once I go back to work and we aren't po anymore.

She's adorable!!
My girl's are now 13(soon-to-be 14)and 12..they grow up too soon..My baby is gonna be 9 in October!! :-(
Those "baby" days are the easiest, but at the time it's hard to realize that!! :D

I didn't go back to work till my youngest was in second grade..I wouldn't have missed those years for anything, we didn't have alot of money either during that time but it was so worth it all..Oh hell..when you have kids you never have any money anyway so whats the point!! ;-)

take care

whenever i read point pleasant, i still remember the short-lived series from earlier this year. ehehehe...

summer's almost over here and we haven't even set foot on the beach. the weather is just crappy 'coz it would be sunny, then it would rain (hard) then it would be sunny and humid so that your rain-soaked clothes are sticking to you.

Princess is just precious! i love the 2nd picture...

At first glance my eyes read 'daySTRIPPERS' and I thought "Where on earth did you take that sweet little Princess?!"

;)

I just want to pinch those cute little cheekies!!

It is a cage, but not ours. The people next to us had it. Princess really kept herself in check.

Glad you had a great day.
It's winter here, so beach going is a little way down the list of priorites at the moment!

Like you some of my best memories as a child was by the water. But we don't have the ocean here in Oklahoma so we make do with the lakes. My dad's parents had a house at one of the lakes and I loved it out there. It was so wonderful.

My dream is to someday have a house on a lake...

You sure brought back memories for me. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Just too cute!

She's so adorable!

Used to love Point Pleasant; still do--especially the house on the Boardwalk that blares Frank Sinatra music 24/7--something endearing about that--not that I would want to live next door.

But all of a sudden one year in the late 90s it turned into the Hamptons on the Jersey Shore!

I love the curly fries at Point Pleasant Beach! They were yummy. Also last time I was there, we saw a dolphin swimming! At first my sister thought it was a shark! We hopped out of that water so fast...

Oh how I long to be at the beach. "My beach" was Ocean City or (Child)Wildwood.

You know you're a true jersey girl when...
