A Little Bit Country Beats A Little Bit Rock n' Roll

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Some friends and I are going to Key West in the fall. I was there once before as a stop on a cruise, so we were only there for about 6 hours. Got any advice? What should we see/skip? Fun activities? Decent hotels? Good bars? Restaurants? Anything? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
American Idol: What can I really say? Carrie has a great voice, and I think she deserved to win. They were both really great and I would have been happy for either one winning. I think it might even be better for Bo to NOT be the American Idol so that he doesn't have to conform to odd pop standards and he can just be the 60's country-rocker he is.
Let me say this about memes: I don't mind them. In fact I kinda dig them. It makes me feel a tad bit flattered that you tag me (which means, for those not in the know, that if you are "tagged" you have to do the meme next on your blog and then tag other people). But if you dislike them, or even if you do like them, you should check out my pal Last Girl On Earth's Meme Song. She is talented and this is a funny little diddy.

So on with the meme! I was tagged this time by Career Woman (and also later by Redhead Mommy ), so here it goes! I am doing this with the Momma K twist to it, so try to keep up. The rules? You post the list of the person who tagged you and then write your own below it. Only change items that you HAVE done and leave the ones that you have NEVER done. Get it?? Then pass it on...

Career Woman's List:
1. Jumped from a perfectly good plane that's still flying
2. Jumped from a perfectly good bridge with an oversized rubber band around my ankles
3. Had a honeymoon
4. Gotten a speeding ticket
5. Had some type of surgery
6. (I have not watched an entire episode of ER, therefore I will add something new): Watched an episode of The Baby Story
7. Won the Lottery
8. Been in handcuffs
9. Flown in a hot air ballon
10. Hit the Jackpot on a Slot Machine

True's List:
1. Jumped from a perfectly good plane that's still flying
2. Jumped from a perfectly good bridge with an oversized rubber band around my ankles
3. Been to Australia
4. Gotten into a fistfight
5. Been arrested
6. Met Jon Bon Jovi
7. Won the lottery
8. Run a marathon
9. Regretted quitting a job
10.Hit the Jackpot on a slot machine

I am not going to tag anyone specific, because I don't know who is sick of doing memes or has already done this one. So if you wanna do it, do it. Let me know and I'll check out your answers. But I'd really like to see my girl Mimi at Simply Complicated do this one - I gotta hear what that crazy broad hasn't done!

As far as key west, you can't really go wrong with anything there. Sloppy Joe's is a great bar, pretty famous and is a must see. It is so beautiful there, my sister-in-law lives in Ley Largo, have a great time!

I've only caught a couple episodes of American Idol this season, but I wanted Carrie to win from day one. She has a great voice. But I do feel bad for Bo cause he's awesome too.

Hey True! Does this mean we'll be getting a "the time I was handcuffed to ..." story any time soon?? great! ;-)

You look like a Sloppy Joe's kinda girl to me!! Margaritaville was fun but have to drive 7 mile bridge just cause it's 7 miles long...don't do Ripley's Believe or Not when you're drunk, hit Sunset Pier in Mallory Square from about 4 p.m street performers, local artists and musicians set up there every night. Go to the Southern most point..good photo op. and also Ernest Hemingway's house is really cool..they have a ton of six-toed cats!! Take the tour..and have a great time!!! Oh, and be prepared for lots living alternative lifestyles openly and proudly. I love it there!!!

Yay Carrie!

I feel exactly like you on the whole AI and I seem to have had the same feelings all the way through!

And as far as that Meme, I have seen it around the bloggersphere lately and call me stupid, but I just don't understand my defense I haven't really TRIED too hard, but still, I feel lame! Just glad I haven't gotten tagged with that one yet! (crossing fingers)

I'll do it, but it'll have to wait until later. I've got to put my thinking cap on.

AI... saw it and ya both rocked. Bo does have a great voice, so no worries for him!

Um, ya I would love to read the post about being arrested!

Key West--I've never been but if I went I would so want to see the Hemingway place--and all those six-toed cats!

I haven't done any of those except been to Australia. . .but I'm confused so does that mean you have been in handcuffs then. .what is that all about?

Some of those things would be on my list, but the one that caught my eye the most on yours was that you met Bon Jovi. My sister in law would die, she has loved him forever. lol.

I'm glad Carrie won idol, I figured she would....but they both have careers ahead of them so its all good.

Hows the rain over there? Its STILL raining here. Here is Boston by the way.

The best way to approach key west is without a plan and then just go with the flow.

But I would try to make sure the flow took me by Hog's Breath at some point.

Go Carrie! Glad it was her also. Haven't been to Key West. Sounds like it will be fun though.

Thanks so much for the linkage! ( I DID enjoy your answers, though!) I don't HATE them, I just don't like to DO them!

I don't think I get this meme but I'm gonna try it.

And I wanted Bo to win. =(

When in Key West, don't forget to go to Irish Kevin's and get your free t-shirt. You have to perform a little trick to get it. I have mine and my mother isn't too proud. BIG FUN!

Well, aren't you brave going to the keys at the start of hurricane season. Just stay away from the t shirt shops and make sure you visit hemingways. I usually stay in one of the keys before Key West - lot cheaper and less crowded. Though "less crowded" has sort of lost meaning in S. Florida. And Michele sent me and I'm a BRUCE FANATIC!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Key West! A bunch of friends and I went there about a year ago. Irish Kevins is a GREAT bar to visit. We went bar hopping the first night but then ended up going to Irish Kevins every night after that. Have a blast and I hope the roosters don't keep you awake! :)

Key West - hit the pier to watch the sunset and have a few cocktails and watch the people. Heaven.

There's a restaurant there that looks really cool - I can't remember the name of it, but if you go on to, look for Rachael Ray's "$40 A Day," she did Key West a while back, and the site should have the name of it. It's an outdoor place with real Key West food. Plus, it's away from Duval Street, so it's not as touristy.

When, in fall, is the trip? 'Cuz hurricane seasons peaks in September (you're better off in late October or early November).
