The Diet Must Commence

Ok, if this dress is not reason enough to diet, I don't know what is. I am in my cousin Chris's wedding in October, and his lovely bride-to-be has chosen this dress for her bridesmaids. Let's just say that I will be looking like the backside of a barn in this dress right about now. Thank God it will be in black and not in cellulite-revealing light blue. And what kind of bra do I wear with this, seeing as the straps go off the shoulder (don't suggest strapless, that ain't holdin' them up)? You really have to click on the pic to see this dress close up - you need a seriously flat tummy to wear it. Its really pretty...but....anyway, this pic is going on my fridge (and freezer and cookie jar and cupboard and secret stash of chocolate in my glove compartment) to remind me why I must starve myself for the next 6 months.

Perhaps don;t eat til then? Or just live on fruit and veg juice. Hell Gandhi did it! (Ps. you did on blogger! Is it working now?)

Oh, I hate the whole bridesmaid thing. My sister chose strapless deal and I looked horrible. I mean I am at least 7 years older than her and her skinny, emaciated, nothing-else-to-do-but-work-out friends. AHHH! The dress is pretty, and I'm sure you'll look hot. Is this the wedding where that chick you hate is going to be?? Because if it is, maybe you should think about a bra with a little pocket for your brass knuckles.
;)

Hey at least it's not hot pink taffeta! You'll look fabulous dahling..no worries. Black is very slimming ;0) Have a great weekend!

Wow! What a gorgeous dress! At least the bride chose something that you could wear again for a formal event. (especially since it is black) I don't know how much weight you need to lose but I'd look like the backside of a barn in it, too. Don't starve yourself...believe me that won't work. Just become a vegetarian and tone your muscles. :o)

Oooh, I'm glad I'm not going to be a bridesmaid anytime soon. I have been hanging a dress on my wardrobe door that I'm hoping to fit into. Right next to it I have a picture of myself when I was a lot lighter. My husband (he'll kill me if he finds out I'm blogging about this)...anyway..he put up a little note above it that says "You were beautiful then. You are beautiful now." I bet it's the same for you! I bet you are beautiful now.

If you can't lose all the pounds, just show them what a real woman looks like.

i've been disgustingly thin all my life (sorry) so have no diet tips apart from NOT DRINKING SO MUCH BEER (beer is the only thing that ever gave me love handles... ok, so i lied! I've not been disgustingly thin all my life, just till i turned 26, then suddenly my arse (my cute small lovely little arse) decided it had had enough of my hips and wanted to go visit MY KNEES instead! the little bitch!)

since the sagging I've stopped looking in the mirror...

this wasn't helpful was it...?

my apologies... I've been let out of the house for the night, went to London and had too many vodka tonics...

;-)

by the way, our daughters may well be twins, or connected in some evil toddler way, with a mission to drive all mothers mad...

ok, I think I am mistaking your comment section for my own blog, i.e. as a place I can rant on undisturbedly for as long as i want. :-D
hope you don't mind (feel free to edit if I've used any naughty words...)

again, too many vodka tonics...

I won't starve myself for anything :op That's why I work out like crazy @ the gym right? ;)

That dress is goregous. My wedding (ok I'm divorced now but oh well) was really simple, I had 3 bridesmaids and I told them to wear whatever the hell they wanted, I didn't make them get a dress - most of them are hideous anyway. But that dress you posted is niiiiice. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!

Another reason that I'm glad to be a guy. :)

Good luck with your diet! It is good that you'll plaster that picture around the place, that should help motivate.
I do not suggest starving yourself. Just watch what you eat and make sure you get out and walk each day. (That worked for me 4 years ago and I haven't put on any extra weight and I have had a baby too!)
BTW, I am here via Michele's weekly M&G! Cheers :)

Very, very nice dress. You may actually be able to wear that again- which says a lot for a B.M's dress!! Good luck with the diet. I'm sure you'll look smashing:-)

I'm aiming for the same thing -- I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in early December and the dress is a black strappy number that looked great on the tall skinny bridesmaid that modeled it for us but will not be quite as forgiving on my 5'4"-weight-hides-well-in-structured-clothing frame. I wouldn't say I'm "fat" but I'm not skinny and I think it's a skinny dress. We'll do it together then!

That's a wonderful dress! Good luck with the diet, and there are foundation thingies that can squash you up and make you look slimmer under it. I'm pretty sure there are ones with clear bra straps, too.
