My 200th Post

That's right, I have written 200 posts for this here blog. I can't believe I still have anything left to say. But of course, I do.

Today I am going to talk about exercise and how much it sucks. I want so much to enjoy it. To be one of those people who loves to run, so I can say things like "when I run it clears my mind, it relaxes me." But ya know what? I truly dislike exercising. I can't run because of my rather large boobs, and power walking bores me for the most part. I like a leisurely stroll in the park with my dog and kid, but I don't really want to sweat or anything. And I have a treadmill, but it is basically a very expensive clothes hanger at this point.

I have been working out, though, at least 5 times a week. Whoever invented The Firm is certainly the devil, I will have you know. It makes me hurt and sweat and nearly cry because its so hard. And those bitches in the video are so freakin perfect they make me want to throw up my dinner. But I won't, don't worry, I love food too much.

So the point is that it does not matter that I have been doing either The Firm, Tae-Bo, or Kickboxing five times a week for over a month now, consistently, and that I can see changes in my body, and that I am feeling better, and that shorts that have not fit me in three years fit now. I still hate it with every ounce of my being.

But I do love that Hub and I had this conversation last night:
Hub: "Have you lost alot of weight?"
TJG: "Some, I dunno, I am not weighing myself."
Hub: "Well, you look like you lost alot. A lot. You look good."

This is why I would not leave him for Jon Bon Jovi or Billy Lane or anyone else. And coming tomorrow - the story of how we got engaged. Oh yes, it is super-romantic. Really.

You have no idea how freaking jealous I am that after one lousy month you are seeing results while after six months I'm seeing fucking nothing!!!!

I am one of those running nuts. For the most part, I enjoy it, but there are days I say, "what the hell am I doing out here running in the heat?" I run about 30 miles on a good week.....I am inspired by the boardwalk along the beach, the other runners, and my music...without that I could not do it....

Keep up the good work!!!! :)

Great job!!! Why aren't you weighing yourself though? I know, while working out you gain muscle, but weight loss could be a good motivation too!

A few years back, I was doing Tae-bo 3 times a week with my neighbor. It's great to have someone to motivate you!!! (But man that stuff kicks your ass!!!) Instead of being all ready to run for miles and stuff, I was dead on my feet!!! LOL We gave up after a while!

You keep it up though...hope you are very proud of yourself!!!

I have the hardest time losing weight! Especially because my husband is always feeding me ice cream telling me that he likes me to be nice and round! The nerve!

my hubby needs to take lessons from YOUR hubby! :-)

I am very proud, True, you're doing so well!!

Good for you for not weighing yourself. It's a terrible habit. Measure instead; it's a more accurate predictor of your progress. Seriously, who cares if you weigh 200 pounds if you're a size 4?

And good for you for sticking with the exercise, no matter how much it sucks!

I'm one of those weirdos that actually digs working out. I wake up early every day so I can do floor exercises, and then walk on my lunchbreak or swim after work .

I'm going to check out "the firm" though, haven't been moved to tears or hate from a workout in a long time.

I work out a lot, and it does make me feel better - I've taken several days off the last few weeks cuz of house-sitting and moving, and I definitely feel more tired than I used to. Plus, there's cute guys @ the gym to gawk at while I'm working out :op

I'm not a runner either, I just do 30-45 mins of weight training and then 20-30 mins of cardio every day, and some days I just work out at home instead, to mix it up. It definitely makes a difference. If only I could cure my raging appetite, I'd be happy :)

Good luck, and keep with it!

Nice work, what a good feel to know all that nasty excersise is paying off. I need to get a little more commited myself.

You are my inspiration!I go workout 2x a week and I think I don't have time for anymore than that but it's not true. Especially since your daughter is younger than mine. SO great that your husband noticed and even more so that you've gotten something back from it like wearing clothes that previously didn't fit.

Your husband is a very, very smart man.

I supplement my gym trips with lots opf playing sports. This way I exercise and don't even notice it.

I agree 100% Exercising sucks. I respect you for doing it anyway. Wish I could say the same! What can I say... I guess "tomorrow" just keeps getting away.... I loe your blog, found it via Raehan.

I used to be one of those people who love to run.

Then I discovered beer. Thanks a lot - I blame you.

Anyway, it's totally awesome that you're working out! I wish I had the time. I would say something moderately gross/encouraging like "Look at each bead of sweat as a lost ounce" but I'm afraid you might hit me. And that would hurt.

What a sweet guy! AND WTG on losing weight! I am right there with ya on the excersising part. The Deputy runs three miles a day and loves it. Whatever, I call him the Excersise Freak. Its one thing to do it, but it is just plain freaky to enjoy it.

Congrats on sticking to it, even tho you don't enjoy it. That's half the battle, girlie!

You go girl! It does suck to exercise but the results are worth it! I start a 21 day thing at "the fit zone" tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that I can lose some of my baby fat!!!! and don't fall over dead. LOL.

YEAH TJG!!!! I'm so happy for you. And yes... WORKING OUT SUCKS! That's why I try to take classes in the gym, and why I try to meet my girlfriend at least once a week to work out with her. Then I have someone to share the pain with!

And your guy sounds GREAT! He's a keeper.

Good for you!! I am really happy for you:-) Nothing is better than fitting into old used-to-be-too-small clothes.

Hooray for working out and finding something that works for you. Exercise can get pretty boring at times.

Aww the Hub is sweet :-)

Congrats on 200 posts!

That's so great that you have found an exercise routine. I need to get back into one. When I sprained my foot in May, I got off track. I do hike with the dog once in a while and that helps.

You're husband is a sweetie. I bet you do look great, though!
