- Daycares who want to charge me for a full week when they are closed Monday for Columbus Day and Thursday and Friday because they flooded from all the rain. (Oh, no, you know I am not having that. I argued with the woman, sweetly of course because she is taking care of my kid, until she agreed to credit me for Thursday and Friday. Well, as sweetly as I can. Which is perhaps not that sweetly.)
- Word verification on blogs. Yes, I know I have it too and we have to have it to block out spam. But half the time I can't even read the letters and I get it wrong and have to start over.
- The fact that I am too tired to even blink, because when I close my eyes for that brief millisecond, I am almost passing out from exhaustion.
- Tailors who tell me they can alter my bridesmaids dress, and then when I call them to confirm my appointment they tell me that they only tailor men's suits. Yes, the wedding is 11 days away.
- The place I ordered Princess's flower girl dress from. Because I don't have it yet. And the wedding is 11 days away. And I can't buy her shoes until I have the dress so I can try to match them. Bah.
- The fact that I cannot just play "Golddigger" by Kanye West over and over all day long. I love that song and it plays in my head all the time - why can't I play it at work? (Ok, language is perhaps not appropriate. But still, lovin' that song).

I hate that about daycares....
Oh... we're not open for a couple of days... but you still have to pay just like we were....
Grrrrrrr!
I hate the word verification thing too....I have yet to give in and put it on my blog. I too cant read them half the time!
Bridal salons are such a rip-off for alterations. I wonder if they made a deal with the local tailor because they charge an arm and a leg (sometimes up to the cost of the bloody dress), so that everybody takes the dress elsewhere for alterations.
Yep, daycares will do that! When I cared for one little girl for a year, I didn't charge for days off, but I can see why the big places need to do that (staff to pay...utility bills..etc.) It sucks, though.
Hope your dresses are all taken care of REALLY soon!
ANd I HATE word verification for the same reason!
I hate the word verification too ....HEY!!! You have it too!!
Too funny - my word verification says "njboy". Cool!
Um, yeah they shouldn't be charging you for something that is out of YOUR control such as THEM being closed.
Yes, the word verification thing is annoying! :)
Grrr...The word verification gives me agita.
LOL! Actually, I find your list quite short! :)
I think most daycares do that. I think it's crappy, too.
I had to pay for a the entire Fall term for Hannah to attend a pre-school, which she was not old enough to attend until this month.
I was pissed, but I love the school. So, now i'm over it, since she is thrilled to be there.
But yes, I hate that.
I had an issue with the daycare we had my daughter in in New Jersey. It closed a couple of times on account of weather yet they wouldn't credit me. I told them that the days they don't pay their hourlies their measley $6.50/hour are the days I shouldn't be paying my $80/day! Then after we moved to Ohio, I had to claw to get the $200 deposit back. But with all that, it was still a great place for my daughter...
Love "Goldigger"!! and yes, your list is much shorter than mine would be today! Hope it all works out!!
Word verification often feels like an IQ test to me...it is hard to read those letters.
I hate when you call places and explain the situation, make an appointment only to find out they can't do it. They happened yesterday with me and my car. They told me on the phone they could replace the part, then when I brought my car in...oh that is custom made, you have to get it done at the dealer. *sigh*
OMG - I am so with Scully on that last one!!
I still haven't put word-ver up on my site. Am I the only one who never gets spam? (knock on wood)
oafWord verification annoys me when they are so unreadable...I never get it right...incuding this one at first!
Haloscan has kept me spam free so far and I am grateful that I don't have to use the word thingy. Try it... its free!
Sorry you had such a bad day but think how happy you will be in 11!! :)
I fail the word thing all the damn time. I think it is affecting my self esteem.
i find it so strange, cos ive never had any spam on my blog. maybe its a blogger thing and time to move to another host??
trine
a doll's house
add me to the word verification haters! i can never get them right. it's nice to know i'm not the only one who can't ever get them right :)
I'm with you on word verification & daycare. It's been a lo-o-o-ng time since I had to pay daycare, but they were squeezing out every penny back when Guppyman was little.
It cost as much to hem the dress I bought for Guppy & Storm's wedding as the dress itself cost -- okay, I admit I paid 1/2 price for the dress, but still... But it was still too long and I had to take it back for a 2nd hemming. Get on this one right away.
Um, yeah so how many days away is that wedding??? :) hahahaha, sorry to laugh at your annoyances...that's not nice!!! I'm not laughing AT you sweetie, I swear! :) And I too do not like the verification thing...you are right on with that one! Good to know it's not just me...
I do share the same feeling when it comes to the verification system. In spite of the this though, it does prevent me from receiving a lot of spam.
Hey True!
I hope you are hanging in this week. I share the annoyance on word verification.
By the way, I just recently changed my blog url. It's now socalgirl11.blogspot.com. I'm still making the rounds to let people on my blog roll know. Have a good weekend!
I love the song alos...hate him, but love the song.
Seems like lots of people are getting married in Nov. I ran to the seamstress this week too - 1 hour and 45 minutes away! *wail*
Ah yes, we have to deal with the same issue at daycare. And we still have to pay 1/2 weekly tuition if our kids are not there for a week, like say for vacation. If they are out for 2 weeks or more, we have to pay $50 per child to hold their spot. It is robbery!!
But they have us over a barrel... because if we move to a cheaper place, well, you know... you get what you pay for. so we just keep sucking it up and paying for it.
Totally agree with the work verification too. I got rid of mine until I get spammed, which hasn't happened... yet. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
