A Quick and Painless Survey

But first...is it wrong that I kept coming back to my own blog just to see that dreamy pic of Jared Leto in my last post?
--------------------------------
and also...I'm thinking of totally abandoning blogging for twittering.
--------------------------------
oh yeah and this too...I am no longer watching American Idol, effective immediately. Complete travesty. I am seriously never watching again.
--------------------------------
And now...Please answer this question for me; its quick and painless, I promise.

Is your blog anonymous, meaning that no one you know in real life knows about it? Or do your family and friends read it? And if people in your real life read it, does it inhibit your honesty?

I have three good friends, a significant other, and a brother who knows about it. My co-author obviously knows. But other then that I keep it low key.

Good Question.

Too public actually... Way too many people know about it for me to post some of the things I wish I could...

BTW - Don't quit watching... Jump on the Sanjaya bandwagon. Let's give them what they deserve- This year we actually have a shot of making this boy win.

Maybe next time, they'll give us people who can sing.

Gina shouldn't have gone... She should have been final 2 (with Sanjaya of course)

Ok, I'm going to display my complete lack of knowledge here... but what is twittering?

Two people in my life know about my blog, my significant other and a good friend who has a blog herself. It does prohibit me posting about some things but then if I wnated to write about those things desperatley I could always start another blog!

what in the heck is twittering?

No, my blog is not anonymous any longer. It used to be, but now even my grandmother reads it.

Gina went to the same high school as me. She was a Freshman when I was a senior. She had real talent, too. Too bad.

Everyone knows about my blog, and I even use my real name on there. I haven't disclosed it to the folks at the office, for fear they'd find out that I blog a lot at work. I don't censor myself at all, really.

I've told a few family friends who may have seen it once or twice, but no one really reads it that I know.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Now if you find the need to touch yourself with every viewing...

None of my real life friends read this one except people that I met through the blogosphere anyhow -- I post most things on my myspace blog too, and some of my friends read that one. The sensitive posts only go on my regular blog.

Had the public blog, caused me MUCH grief and I quit a job over it. Hindsight glad I left the job for the killer job I got, but never again with the public thing. Too many real life things cause you real life issues.

I made the unfortunate choice of sharing the existence of my blog with some people at work, removing the anonymous option. It leads to much more self censorship than I'd sometimes like. Then I started a "secret" blog for the more juicy personal rants, but I got that out of my system pretty quickly and abandoned that.

not anonymous, but then with video that's a bit harder. i LOVE twittering!!

if you want a simplified blog experience, there's http://tumblr.com/ as well - no fuss blogging.

but twitter is the best

Ugghh again with the twitter thing.

Everyone and their mother knows about my site and it really does not bother me too much - I am a pretty straight shooter and if I need to say something about them I would say it to their face, but I do have the option in my Expression Engine to make certain posts private and I decide on the back end who can and cannot read them.

No one in real life knows about my blog. Let's face it -- if they knew that I was going around pretending to be the Prince of Darkness, I'd probably get too many sidelong glances. It's a great way to adopt a persona without hurting anyone's feelings.

I did have a blog that friends knew about and I couldn't be honest. The very things that I wanted to most write about I couldn't because I was afraid of hurting feelings.

It's not anonymous but sometimes I wish it was. And I do think, (sometimes overthink I'm sure,) my posts.

Oh wow. I don't usually find guys like Jared Leto cute, but that's picture is TOTALLY an exception. Wow! *wipes sweat* :)) About your question... I think mine is anonymous. I think it's better that way.

My family (and some of my friends) knows about my blog, but my sister commented the most on it. My other blog, Laurianne's Hope, is about awareness, so everyone knows about that.

I sometimes feel limited though, so I have thought of starting secret blog. Or I started one. Or just imagined it. Hmmm....I don't know anymore.... ;-)

Oh, and coming back to look at the picture - I see no problem.

I thought I would stop by since you visited me the other day. :D

that boy is hot, you could always devote your blog to hot guys:)
lots of my family/friends know about my blog and have my link, they read but rarely comment but we talk about it in real life. i'm careful what i blog about, sometimes there are things going on about my kids that i don't want to just blurt out, it would cause hurt feelings. i found out recently that my oldest daughter stopped reading my blog and that's when i did a post about her not being around for easter but then i found out her cousin (my niece, who reads) tipped her off to it. if you do decide to give it up, i think it would be a great idea to continue to writing, to have a "journal" for your daughter/kids. i wish i had started one when mine were little, but that was before there were blogs. my kids are the ones who encouraged me to have my blog, i think they like the idea that they can read what i'm thinking, even though it's not always my true feelings.

Jared Leto is actually one of my man-crushes! LOL! Seriously, gotta love him and his band. He's quite talented and erh, stuff.

I watch Idol because I'm always on the lookout for Jordin, Blake and Melinda. The rest can go to hell, especially Sanjaya! My gawd what a disaster!

My blog is semi-anonymous. Some family and friends know that I keep one and some just don't. There.

Hey, I got here via twitter (but I've been here before back before I took a self-imposed blog break, happy to be back) anyway...

Very few real life people know about my blog, but now I've started a fresh new one and I'm little by little letting people know about it. Few seem to care, actually, because they don't get why I have one. I tried to explain twitter to my SIL yesterday and she now thinks I'm insane.

A number of my friends know about my blog, and occasionally read it. My younger sister found out about it and was reading it and leaving snarky anonymous comments. She's either stopped reading after I posted a disclaimer at the top stating that if I know you in real life and did not invite you than you're not welcome or she just stopped commenting. My little brother knows it exists, but he's never asked for the URL.

Yes, I find that I do censor myself, and sadly, mostly because of one friend in particular.
