So Didja Miss Me?

Well. I forgot how time consuming this whole 9-to-5 thing can be. Even worse when its 8:30 to 5. But, I have to tell you. I LOVE my job. I know, its only the first week and things will most likely go downhill. But I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.

My boss is completely amazing. She is so empowering. When I ask her things - like, I noticed you have done this in this way in the past and I was thinking it would be better to do it this way - she tells me not to ask her things like that. That its MY job and I can do it however I want; I don't need approval from her. I can just run with it however I want. You have to understand that at my last company, you had to check with 50 people before you were allowed to use the ladies room. I am not used to this. It rocks.

And everyone there is SO nice, and not in an annoying way (maybe you have to be from Jersey to understand what I mean by that, I don't know). Its a young company and everyone is amazingly cool. I haven't met one single person that I didn't like. On my first day, I met with the CEO for over an hour and he was so cool. He's like, in this company what we value is excitement and change and new ideas and committment to making your area as awesome as it can be.

Not to mention, its only 10 minutes from home and 11 minutes from daycare, so I am home with Princess before 5:30. And, not only that, but I can leave my office and be in Target within a 5 minute period. Yeah!

And Princess, how is our dear Princess doing in daycare? Well, she is doing GREAT. She is still going through the adjustment period, definitely, but overall she is a real trooper. She cries when Hub drops her off, but then he stands in the hallway where she can't see him, and she stops crying within 30 seconds and then doesn't cry all day. She comes home and says "play with the kids" and we ask her, "do you want to go play with the kids?" and she says "yeah!" What a kickass little chick I am raising. She rules.

So I am very confident that I have made all the right choices here. I picked the right job. I picked the right daycare place. I picked the right time to go back to work, and I picked the right guy to marry who will take her in the mornings so I am not a disaster when I go to work.
-------------
I will get my review of the new Bon Jovi CD up in the next few days. Needless to say, you need to go buy it. Its great. And I taped Oprah on Wednesday and have only had time to watch the very beginning of it. All I know is this: A. The man has still got it and B. I do not need to see his skank wife. At all. Evah.
-------------
I am hoping not to neglect this blog (or all of your blogs) but I have to get myself on a good schedule so I have time for everything. I hope you will all be patient and keep coming back.
-------------
And a final shout out to the amazing Nat, who kindly sent me her Mixamania cd along with another mix as well. You rock, girl!!! Thanks!!!

Good to hear that the first week is going well all around! We should all just "play with the kids" and have a day off. Oh wait, that's SATURDAY! ;)

And you are welcome. Enjoy the tunes!

Hey! You are back!!! That is great everything is going so good!!! Your little Princess sounds like she is going to rule the daycare. You won't regret doing this. You made a good choice.

Maybe you should get Patsy a job at your place. Sounds like she is getting the shaft at her job. LOL!

Congrats on your new job and I'm so glad you are enjoying it! Makes a difference eh? I always love having a place I enjoy being as opposed to a place where I just get a paycheck.

I missed you, but I totally understand your situation. We may not see you as regularly, but I hope you can at least post every now and then to your blog. How can I stay cool if I don't have a main line into Jersey? Hmmm?

That's great about the job. Do you need an executive assistant?

And of course Princess rocks!!!!!

When it's right it's right. I'm so happy for you! It's such a difficult thing to do. I'm going back myself. Hey does your company need anyone else? Sounds good. I'm in the market.

Oh, and I totally get the nice but not annoying thing, but then again you knew I would.

YAY! I'm happy that you're loving the new job, and even happier that daycare is going well. I think when I first sent my kids to daycare (many, many years ago) that it was harder on me than on them. :)

Movin' on up!

I was never 10 or 11 minutes from ANYTHING in New Jersey. Sure, I may have lived 5 miles from something but it took 20 minutes to get there!

Glad it is all good!

i'm so glad everything sounds like it's running smoothly, i was pretty sure you had made the right decision and you just needed to give it a try and see how it worked for you. just give yourself some time to adjust, you will be able to fit in all the things you want to do.

Sounds like a great start TJG. There are few things in life more stressful than starting a new job, even when it all goes well.

I am sure princess is going to make a ton of new friends.

Glad to hear it all went so well! I just started a new job this week too and am going back to work after being out for almost a year (I had spinal fusion surgery). I can totally relate with all the changes and adjustments! Good Luck with it!!

Sounds like the new job is working out very well. I'm very happy for you...
Would you believe this, I know how you feel about having to go thru 50 people before doing anything, even so much as going to the ladies room. My last job, I actually had to bring in a "bogus" note from my doctor explaining how I am on blood pressure meds and they make you pee more often. Cause the place I worked at kept tabs on how often you went to the rest rooms... Can you believe such A-holes exist?

That is WONDERFUL news about the job, about Princess and everything else in between. :) I'm so glad to hear that it's working out and that you are all adjusting so well to the new schedules, etc.

Hey, awesome! I'm glad things are going so well for you.

But listen. I want to be Grace when I grow up. Me. Grace is my hero.

You can sit by me if you want to though.

The problem is, I think I am older than Grace. And I KNOW she doesn't want to be me.

I mean, who would? I don't.

Target a few minutes away. That so rocks.

Glad everything is going well, that Princess is doing fine in daycare and that you love your job.

Don't worry if you can't blog quite as often - this working fulltime and caring for a family can leave a severe depletion of free time - I know :)

la la la I can't hear you said...

Lucky dog. I'm glad you like your boss. I once had a boss I liked, two weeks after she hired me, her boss fired her and I was stuck there with a bunch of assholes. But that probably won't happen to you.

It was too bad I didn't have a blog then, cause it was funny sometimes.

Whoo Hoo! Excellent news on all fronts! Take a break and get into the groove, you'll be missed, but it is understandable. That little princess of yours DOES rock - she sounds like she is thriving, and if you find the right place, which you did - then it is gonna be a great thing for her.
